Joey de Leon of GMA Eat Bulaga show gives insulting jokes to Pokwang of ABS-CBN

Calling comedian and "Eat, Bulaga!" host Joey de Leon an "old man", comedienne Pokwang said her first reaction to the former's jokes at her expense--during an "Eat, Bulaga" production in the United States--was puzzlement. She simply wondered why the veteran comic would even bother to take potshots at her--going so far as to making fun of her appearance.De Leon’s version of the John Lennon hit "Imagine" during the show was a rumination on what life would be like without GMA-7. Pokwang was mentioned in the song in an unflattering vein. (A clip of De Leon's performance is on YouTube.)In the video, De Leon sings, to the tune of "Imagine“. Pokwang said that despite making jokes at her expense, she still considers de Leon a comic icon and adds that for de Leon to even bother to include her in the joke is, in a way, flattering.Pokwang said she has no plans to do anything about the said incident, and joked that she would simply let de Leon, whom she called as “lolo” (grandpa), have his fun.She did say that de Leon is nowhere near her own grandmother, who is loved by press people with a heart that refuses to hurt other people. Aside from co-hosting "Wowowee," Pokwang is a regular cast of "That's my Doc" every Saturdays at 6 p.m. with actor Aga Muhlach. She is also busy doing shows in various localities in the country and even for Filipino communities abroad.Pokwang or Marietta Subong in real life is a member of ABS CBN's Star Magic group of entertainers. She rose to fame after winning in ABS-CBN's "Clown in a Million." With a report from Ogie Diaz, Umagang Kay Ganda.
